We decided to spend the first day of 2013 at the Safari Park. It's one of our favorite places to go because it's pretty close to our house, we have annual passes, we get some exercise with all of the walking, we enjoy seeing the animals, and we always learn something new on the tram ride (which Ben insists on doing every time). We have a routine when we go there - get a map, then walk straight to the tram (past the monkeys, down the elevator, past the lions), ride the tram, then get a slushie, then walk by a few more animals before heading to the merry-go-round. We ride the merry-go-round, then smash a penny in one of the machines and head home. Ben rarely wants to see the actual animals - never the lions - even on the tram. He just likes the ride and eats snacks. :) We have watched the Bird Show a couple of times, which he loved. This time we saw several gorillas which was really cool. They are usually way back in their caves, but they were all out. It looked like one was super pregnant and there was a baby gorilla, turning around in circles and having a great time.

These 2 rhinos are a type of rhino that will go extinct in our lifetime :(
Ben and Daddy on the tram
All the gorillas out of the cave
The baby dancing in cirles
So cool to see
Time to ride the merry-go-round
Making silly faces
Look at that face! LOL!
