San Marcos Tree Lighting

This was our second year attending the San Marcos Tree Lighting and we got to bring along Nana and Gramps this time! I think Ben is getting to the best years as far as Christmas and Santa excitement are concerned because his face just completely lit up when he saw Santa arrive on the firetruck. It was so cool.

We started the evening with drinks at Pizza Nova, then walked over to the Civic Center/Town Hall to wait for Santa's big arrival.  The fire truck pulled in and the kids all went crazy when Santa stood up and waved.  He then climbed the ladder all the way over to the big tree and we counted down from 10 and the lights came on.  After Santa made his way down, he walked around and handed out candy canes to the kids.  We headed back to Pizza Nova for dinner and more drinks.  It was a great way to start off the Christmas festivities!
