About 7 years ago, our relatives from Dusseldorf, Germany visited Orange County, so I got to meet them for the first time (second meeting for my parents). We had a blast hanging out at my parent's house and touring Laguna Beach. Fast forward to last weekend - Peter and Karin were in the States again so we had planned a mini-Thuerbach reunion with some other family members. They came in from Indiana, Montana, and Arizona. Saturday afternoon Ken and Carol (Ken is my Dad's cousin)came by the house for a bit before meeting up with everyone in Laguna Beach for dinner at the Beach House. We had a lovely dinner and Ben did great (thanks to the tablet!). On Sunday, everyone came over to my parent's house to BBQ, swim in the pool, and just catch up. Kathy (my Dad's other cousin's daughter) had mentioned she had connected with a Thuerbach who lived in Newport Beach (originally from Germany). None of us knew how we was related, but we tracked down his wife's cell number and gave them a call. We were shocked when they called back and said they would come over! Klaus and Cornelia Thuerbach live in Newport and are super sweet. We are still trying to figure out where they fit into the family tree!
