Our Bug is 2 Today!

Can you believe it rained on our little man's 2nd birthday? I thought it never rained in Southern California!!! Well, that's 2 years in a row now, so guess you better get used to it Ben! :) Our plan to go for a bike ride along the beach quickly changed to a morning spent at Kid Ventures, an indoor playground. We've taken Ben there a couple of times and he always seems to have a good time. Well, we weren't the only parents with this "brilliant" idea for a rainy day - the place was PACKED when we got there. We actually had to wait a minute before going in since they were already at capacity. It was a bit chaotic inside with so many kids, but Ben didn't seem to mind. He was running all over the place. His favorite spots were in the grocery store room playing with the cash register, running up and down all of the ramps, and I even convinced him to check out the disco room for a dance or two.

Then he found the bigger ones!
Ringing up my grocery bill with Dad looking on
One of the ramps - showing me Dad was leaving (to get our new car!)
Giving knuckles to Dad through the window!
'Cause I got a feelin...that tonight's gonna be a good night...
After playing at Kid Ventures all morning and Ben crashed for a nice, long nap, we decided to brave the rain and head to Fashion Valley Mall to visit Build-A-Bear for Ben to build his very own bear. Of course Ben was more interested in all of the buttons on the filling machine (including the Emergency STOP button!) than picking out a bear, but he helped pick out a heart to put inside of his bear and loved giving him a "bath" - stepping on a pedal to blow air onto him. We picked out an outfit, named him Buddy, and printed out his birth certificate. What a cute place.

Once we got home, it was time for presents! In true toddler fashion, we only managed to open one gift - a very special kitty piano from Nana and Gramps. Ben LOVES this thing! He likes playing the keys, listening to the songs and he was going *crazy* saying stuff into the microphone - it was hilarious. He wanted to put it on the table during dinner so he could keep an eye on it and was back playing with it right away after his bath.

Hahaha - this one makes me laugh - I forgot he got ahold of the camera!
