As Ben approaches 2 years old, I don't feel like we post many "firsts" anymore. We've been through all of the Holidays already and gone through the first rolling over-sitting up-solid foods-standing up-walking stages. But we had a FIRST last night - Ben's first time carving a pumpkin! Well, Ben just watched and ran around while Jim carved it, but that's how it goes the first few years right? I thought Ben would want to touch and play with the seeds and orange goop inside, but he had no interest and didn't even want to step on any pumpkin. He was in his room playing by the time Jim was getting ready to carve the face! LOL! He did seem to like seeing the pumpkin all lit up at night and yelling "HOT!"
Getting the plastic laid down - Ben was having fun kicking it!
All ready to carve my first pumpkin! OK, let's take the top off first...
Wow, look at that!
Ben showing Jim what kind of design to make
Getting a better look inside
Ben using the spoon to clean it out
Then he said, "Ewwww!"

Jim getting a bit crazy with the knife - Ben was long gone!
Sounds pretty much how our Friday night went too - Chase did get into it a little more though... it's a little tough this young :) I love the pic of him looking at it all lit up - so cute!
