We started the trick-or-treating a bit early this year by going to the Carlsbad Halloween Festival on Saturday. It was the debut of Ben's costume - a bee! We first saw bees when we went to the pool this summer and Ben would always shout, "Oh no, it's a yee!" It was hilarious. Now all bugs are bees in Ben's world, so we thought he should be a bee for Halloween. He even says "Oh no" when he sees his costume! LOL! Ben did great at the festival - he left his costume alone (even the headpiece part), he started to figure out the whole trick-or-treat thing by grabbing a piece of candy and putting it into his pumpkin, and he LOVED the bouncy house. Ben had only been in one once before and it was just the 2 of us, so I wasn't sure how he'd do with several kids inside. He got tossed around a lot and took many face plants, but he was smiling, laughing and screaming in delight the whole time. I think he could have stayed in there all day - he stayed in while 3 different rounds of kids came and went. When we took his costume off, he was drenched in sweat! It was a great introduction to Halloween this year for Mr. Ben.
Not too happy when we first put on the costume
OK, now that we have candy, things are better!
Check out our little bee!
First sucker - he loved it and it got everywhere!

LOVE the bee costume - soo cute! We told Chase Ben was a bee so when he saw any kids dressed as a bumble bee last night he would say "Bumble Bee! - Ben's a Bumble Bee" Too cute! Glad you guys had fun - love the face plant - at least he thought it was funny :)
