wee bit o'Irish

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Ben is all ready to celebrate thanks to the adorable little shirt Aunt Kirsten, Uncle Rich and cousins Corbin, Avery and Will sent to him. Thanks again guys - hope you enjoy the day and get a kick out of seeing Ben in his shirt!

Yesterday Ben had his "2-week" wellness appointment with his pediatrician (even though he's already 3 1/2 weeks old!). We all loved his doctor and were happy to hear he is a healthy baby and everything looks perfect. He is now up to 8 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces and Jim measured him at 22 inches long. He was a total angel at the office, not crying at all. That might change next time when shots are involved. :(

Ben got his first real bath last night since his umbilical cord stump finally fell off. He didn't seem to enjoy it as much as I thought he would - maybe he just needs to get used to it. I'm sure it will soon become one of his favorite activities.

Dad with an unhappy naked baby!

Sunday we decided to get out of the house and enjoy the nice sunny weather. We dressed Ben in his adorable GAP fleece onesie with ears on the hood that he got from the Campbell girls at my baby shower. It was perfect for the chilly ocean breeze.

We first grabbed lunch in Pacific Beach (Ben slept the whole time!), then took a short walk along the boardwalk. It was so nice to get outside and introduce Ben to the beach and ocean for the first time. I hope we spend lots of time there in the years to come!
