Sisters in Scottsdale

I feel so incredibly grateful that I can say my sister is hands-down my best friend. She means the world to me, yet life can make it hard sometimes for us to connect as much as we'd like to. With the miles between us, the time difference, our days planned around naps, and our boys going to bed at different times, we don't get to talk and catch up nearly as often as we should. So we decided it was time for a sisters weekend! We wanted some place we both could get to easily (from San Diego and Denver), with hot weather to lay out, and a spa for massages. That's about it. We considered Vegas, but it was a little too pricey the weekend we were meeting and we also thought that it is a little too much of a club-scene for us. So after a few recommendations, we settled on Scottsdale (neither of us had ever been). We heard we should stay at the Valley Ho, so that's just what we did.

We had the best time. We enjoyed cocktails by the pool, 90-degree weather, massages at the spa, walking around Old Town, dinners out, bands and a live DJ at the pool, beers at a bar, dancing at a club, and just being able to talk and catch up on our busy lives. Oh, and remember I mentioned we picked Scottsdale to avoid the scene of Vegas? Yeah, guess what was being set up at our pool Thursday when we arrived? The Ms. Hooter's Arizona contest - perfect. Hilarous. At least it makes for a good story.

The Valley Ho - awesome hotel
We knew something was up when we saw all these girls gathering
Oh, that explains it!
Practicing the catwalk
My view laying out at the pool
Going to dinner pool-side
So excited to spend some time together
Getting ready for the big event
Girls like this walking all around the hotel
The contest
Drinks at the hotel bar
Walking to breakfast and around Old Town
Enjoying the live band at dusk after another pool day
Best time of day
Dinner at Salty Seniorita's
Corona anyone?
Me please. :)
Last day at the pool before our flights home
We had to be in the water it was so hot!
DJ at the pool so it was crowded
And so I don't forget all of our memories from that weekend: * shots by the pool * bell hop, "is that your bag?" and no idea how to get a cab * 4am * camera * burgers & wine * bike cabbie making sure we knew the way * Firehouse - just 2 beers, no VIP table * Wild Ones * Euro short trunks, 90's hair and Raybans * blond girl * J-dizzle
