Cinco & Seis De Mayo

For Cinco de Mayo, we headed over to the Gonzales's house to snack on chips and salsa, watch the Kentucky Derby, and let the kids play in the backyard with bubbles. We decided to eat out for dinner, so we ventured to the center down the street from their house which has a little splash pad for kids to play in. Of course, most kids tend to stick their feet in and get a little bit splashed by the water, but not our child. He is (and always has been) the one child completely SOAKED, running through the water and just standing there, letting it fall on his head! Since we had a towel on hand and back-up clothes, we told him to go for it! After the water fun, we grabbed dinner at Rubio's and ended the night with some frozen yogurt.

For Seis de Mayo, we headed to the Safari Park.  Ben still has very little interest in the animals, but he loves riding the 30-minute Africa Tram, playing at the splash pad (shocking I know!), and riding the elevator up and down.  It's nice to spend a couple of hours outside, and of course we keep adding to Ben's Safari Park penny collection! :)
Grabbing a map
It was chilly in the morning when we first got there
All of the animals recently had babies
The male lion was sitting right up against the glass!
Taking in the view on the Africa Tram
 Spotted some cheetahs
 And rhinos
Trying some slushie (post splash pad fun!)
Cheese!  Check out Ben's welt on his forehead from tripping earlier
I had to get in on the slushie action too!
 Fun times
