I feel like our second home lately has been doctor offices, medical buildings and a hospital. I guess we were just lucky with Ben as a newborn, in that he was really healthy and didn't get sick at all. After Ben finally got over bronchiolitus, we made plans with friends this weekend to enjoy Saturday at Kate Sessions Park. The first sign of trouble was when he woke up and I noticed his left eye was pretty much crusted shut with sleep. I immediately thought pink eye, but his eyes weren't red or swollen and they didn't seem to be itching him. So we headed over the park and spent some great time with friends. As the day went on, his eyes kept weeping yellow stuff and the area around both eyes kept getting redder and puffier. I called a nurse and she said it was most likely pink eye and once a child is on the antibiotic drops for 24 hours, they are no longer contagious. Putting two and two together, I knew we needed to get to Urgent Care that evening so we would be able to take Ben to daycare Monday morning. So off we went to yet another doctor appointment. Ben was such a trooper and we learned that besides the pink eye in both eyes, he also has a double ear infection. Poor guy. So now he is on antibiotics for that as well. Ben hasn't really been affected by either problem - he's been in a great mood with lots of smiles and laughs and still sleeping through the night and napping well. Guess where we'll be going again this Friday? Yep, our follow-up appointment with the doctor....round and round we go! :)
No more of these please!

Back to see another doctor
Tired little man waiting our turn
Trying to get a picture of how red and swollen the area around his eyes got
Poor baby
Even worse later in the day
Still such a jokester!
We gave Ben his first "real" cookie for being so brave - he LOVED it!
