San Marcos Fire Station Open House

The annual San Marcos Fire Station Open House was a success once again this year.  I wasn't sure if Ben would want to go again since they seem to have the same things year after year and I figured he might be over it this time around.  But he said he wanted to go and we did manage to do a few new things this time around, like jump in the bounce house, and meet the fire dog, Sparky.

This was Oliver's first time and he was pretty happy observing from his stroller and having some play time in the grass while his big brother was in the bounce house. :)

With the drought being so bad this year, they weren't able to turn on the hoses, so Ben skipped that one which was a bummer because that is usually a favorite of his.  But we still checked out the other favorite things - sitting in a fire truck, watching the fire demo and how to put a fire out, the "stop, drop and roll" crawling activity under the fake fire, and sitting in the 4-wheeler.  We didn't go to the face painting tent this year, which we have always done, but that was fine by me! :)

Such a cool event our local fire house puts on every year.  Looking forward to next October.
