Yesterday we celebrated Jim's 36th birthday, as a family, at home. Ben made Jim a very special card (like the one he made for me on my birthday this year too)
and gave it to him first thing in the morning before school and work. Then once Ben and I got home, we got to work! We brought all of the presents and cards down to the dining table for Jim to see when he got home and then baked a chocolate cake. We didn't have much time for the cake to cool, so I decided to ice it myself this year, but let Ben decorate it however he wanted. He drew one of his famous smiling spiders of course! So after Daddy came home, Ben helped him open all of his cards and gifts and then we sang "Happy Birthday" before Ben blew out all of the candles! We lit the candles again and Jim and Ben blew them out together the second time. :) We hope Daddy enjoyed his special day.
Presents waiting to be opened
Ben "helping" Daddy open everything
Being silly with the boxes!
Decorating the cake
3 blue candles and 6 green ones (only boy colors were allowed he said)
Ben being sneaky and trying to blow out the candles already
Set up the timer for one family pic with me in it! :)
Blowing out the candles take 2.
