Our weekend

Another great weekend with lots of memories made. On Friday, I had a "girl's night" planned. Tracy and I took the entire day off and headed downtown in the late morning. We went for a walk along the marina and then grabbed some lunch before checking into our hotel. We put on our suits and ventured to the pool, only to discover it was tiny and people had already claimed the lounge chairs. We decided to head to the "rooftop" bar instead that had tons of lounge seating. We decided to sunbathe there instead (still not sure if that is really allowed, oh well!). We laid out and talked for about 2 hours, before heading to our room to get ready for the night. Lisa joined us after work and we headed out onto the town! We had dinner at Aqua al 2 (horrible experience) and then went dancing. We hit up 3 different dance places - the requirements being no cover and hip hop music. :) What a great night - so fun to hang out with Tracy and Lisa again. Been way too long. We woke up Saturday, grabbed a late breakfast sandwich and headed back home.

Jim and Ben had a great time together too - Jim picked up Ben early from school Friday, they did some grocery shopping, then played and ate dinner at Roundtable Pizza. Saturday morning they went to craft time at the Lakeshore Learning store before grabbing lunch at McDonald's and doing some more shopping at Costco.

I loved my night out, but I couldn't wait to get home to see my boys. Ben had called me the night before to say "goodnight" and it was the sweetest thing ever.

Saturday after Ben's nap, we played with some water balloons (Ben threw them at me!) and then went for a walk around the neighborhood.

Sunday we did some shopping at the Carlsbad Outlets (and Ben rode the train) before heading home to do some major cleaning and re-organizing. We also cleared the house of all CFL lights after talking to my Dad the weekend before about the hazards of the mercury inside. Good times!
