Pump It Up Party

My co-worker's 2 kids both have birthdays in February - Emerson turned 6 and Luke turned 4, making him and Ben about 10 days apart in age.  We had dinner at their house a while ago and have been trying to make plans to hang out ever since.  So the kids don't know each other very well (yet!), but Matt, Erika, Jim, and I always enjoy hanging out when we see each other and are hoping we have more playdates in the future. :)

Last weekend, they had a joint birthday party at Pump It Up and Ben had a blast!  It took him awhile to warm up to the place since we had never been there before.  The party started in one big room with several bouncy houses, including one you run around in circles, an obstacle course, a regular slide one, and one where you hit baseballs.  Of course, in his initial shyness, he wouldn't go on anything without me, so I got a major workout running around and going through the obstacle course with him (Jim was home preparing everything to build Ben's playhouse later that day)!  It was really fun actually.  From there, we went into another big room which had more bouncy houses - the obstacle course one again (which turned out to be Ben's favorite), a slide, a climbing wall, and a regular bounce house.  This time, they turned out the lights and had fun flashing lights everywhere and glowsticks for the kids to play with.  Ben FINALLY decided he was ready to do the obstacle course on his own (minus one section I had to give him a boost!) right as the party was ending of course!  But he went a couple of times on his own before we moved into the party room for snacks and cupcakes.  We had a great time at the party and I was so impressed with how well they run Pump It Up - we will definitely be back.

Limbo time!  Wait, is that legal?
Watching the kids and having a laugh (my co-worker Matt)
Trying to get a group picture of all of the kids
Now a silly one - wait, where is Ben?
Still going on the obstacle course!  He came flying down the slide behind everyone!
 Snacks in the party room
Singing Happy Birthday to Emerson and Luke
Cupcake time!  He just ate all of the Legos off of the top.
