Jake and the Neverland Pirates Party!

On Saturday, we had a few friends and their kids over for Ben's 4th birthday party, which was Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed (or just pirates in general).  He has been obsessed with that show for a couple of months now, so when we asked him what kind of party he wanted to have, he didn't hesitate to say, "Jake!"

We decided to have the party at our house and lucked out with completely gorgeous weather - sunny and high 70's!  It has rained the day of his party every year in the past, so any plans to be outdoors were always quickly changed to a pizza place.  But not this time!  We decorated the house, put together a crafts table where the kids decorated their own pirate chest, had Ben's new playhouse all ready to go, filled a pinata with candy, set up a table with pirate "stuff" so the kids could dress up (hats, eye patches, tattoos, and earrings), and had one little game for the kids to play inside.  Otherwise, the grown-ups got to catch up and the kids just ran around and played.  We ate pizza, sang "Happy Birthday" to Ben, he blew out the candles, and we devoured the cake.  Towards the end of the evening, Ben opened his presents (at Reagan's request) and the kids played with some of his new toys.  It was a great day and Ben loved his party.  Still counting down to the official big day. :)

A present from Mommy and Daddy the morning of his party
Jake stuff - a bandana, spyglass, compass, sword, and gold doubloons

Ben's birthday cake (we added the figurines, boat, and treasure chest)
Present from Grandma and Papa - a new bike!
So excited for his party to start!
All dressed and ready to go (this picture cracks me up!)
Now we just need the kids to arrive :)

What's a party without some tears?  He didn't want to wear the blindfold for the game.
He decided to cheat instead - hahaha!
