We drove up from San Diego Friday afternoon and Ben spent most of the afternoon and evening playing with Grandma's latest toy purchase - a GeoTrax train. Ben loved it! There is a push train and a remote control train and he took turns playing with both of them.
Saturday morning while Jim and my Dad were golfing, my Mom and I decided to take Ben to a new park before going to an Easter Festival at a church nearby. The park is awesome! It has huge slides, all kind of climbing things, and swings of course. While we were there, we noticed that they were also setting up some kind of festival, so we walked over there when it opened. Wow, were we pleasantly surprised - we had stumbled upon "Bunny Days", which has been held annually and well-known apparently. They had pony rides, carnival games, food stands set up, bands playing, a field set up for older kid games, an indoor area for toddlers, a bake sale, candy stands, and the Easter Bunny for pictures. We stayed there for the rest of the morning and Ben had a blast. It was HOT outside, so we headed home at about 12.30pm for Ben to nap.
After Ben's nap, we went swimmming in the hottub, dyed eggs so the Easter Bunny could hide them the next day, celebrated my Dad's birthday (a few days early) with gifts and cupcakes and then Jim and I headed out to see The Hunger Games while Ben was busy playing games on Papa's new iPad. What a great start to our Easter weekend!
