7 months!

7 months already (on August 8th)!  Where has the time gone?  Oliver has really changed and hit some big milestones between the 6th and 7th month of his short little life, it's amazing.

Just a couple of days after his 6th month birthday, Oliver really mastered the crawl and has been going non-stop ever since.  Then about a week later, he decided to take it a step further and decided he likes to stand!  He was able to pull himself up onto things pretty quickly and easily and preferred to play from the standing position.  He has since gotten really good at pulling himself up to stand, but sometimes he gets a little ahead of himself and tries to move around too quickly and just completely takes a tumble or he lets go thinking he can stand unassisted and he's not quite that good yet. :)

We have also made great strides with eating solids.  Oliver has liked almost everything we have tried, except avocados - we got a nasty face on that one and he was actually spitting it back out!  Besides that, Oliver seems to like and has had green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, winter squash, pears, bananas, applesauce, Yo Baby! yogurt, and Puffs. :)

Sleeping - still not great in that area. :(  This poor guy has had a really hard time with the teething and that, combined with the fact the Dr. told me I sill need to feed him once in the middle of the night if he wakes, means we are still geting up a lot.  Some weeks it will be every 2-3 hours, then other weeks it's just once a night.  Those weeks feel amazing! :)  He usually goes right back to sleep after eating, so at least that is the bright side.

Oliver started going to an in-home daycare recently and he is doing so well there.  The lady there, Michele, is just so loving and caring of all of her kids and it helped that her daughter, Kaitlin, watched Oliver for a couple of months, so he sees her familiar face there and she had taken him to their house so he's familiar with that too.  Did I mention they live just down the street?  It has worked out so well.  Of course I was sad to see him out of our house, but I know he is in good hands and he has been such an angel for them.  He has started to fall into a nice pattern of 2 2-hour long naps and drinks his bottles no problem, is super happy, and she just started feeding him some lunch there too.  The nicest part for us is she recently had some children move onto full-time preschool and so there are only 3 kids left - a 3 year-old who goes to school 2 days a week, a 2 year-old and Oliver.  Just him and 2 sisters.  He gets lots of attention. :)

We haven't weighed Oliver in a while, but I'm guessing he's still only 15-16 pounds.  He is definitely long though - he easily fits into his 6 months clothes and is getting into 9 month PJs already because his toes are getting scrunched in the smaller ones.

Some more Oliver facts at 7 months:
* baths are no longer in the sink anymore - he's just too big and wiggly - we're upstairs in the big bath in his ducky again
* he doesn't babble at all, but we get lots of raspberries
* he's laughing more and more these days
* he LOVES music - it's the only thing that stops him in his tracks - he'll listen with a smile or calm down if he was upset
* he is starting to explore the downstairs - we got one baby gate, but still need to get another
* he is still a tummy sleeper
* he is happy to watch Ben all day long
* still in size 2 diapers
* still chewing on everything but no teeth yet
* not a fan of the carseat
