Rounding out the Halloween festivities was Hallopalooza! It was a street fair/carnival sponsored by the church down the street from our house. They closed down one side of the street and had advertised this event for weeks, so we were excited to check it out. We were really impressed - they had live music, a small petting zoo, pony rides, carnival games with some trick-or-treating, bouncy houses, rock climbing, and more. Of course it was PACKED so that meant lines for everything and Ben doesn't do too well waiting in lines, so we skipped the pony ride and most of the games. We went to the Petting Zoo, played a couple of games, grabbed some pizza for dinner, and called it a night. We stopped by one house on our way back to the car to do "real" trick-or-treating. Ben was happy to try some new candy (those sugar stix are dangerous!) and see all of the kids - one kid was dressed as Elmo and when Ben saw him, he yelled, "MELMO!" I didn't want to get too close and have Ben see it was actually a child and scar him for life. LOL!
